چکیده

The global-in-time existence of bounded weak solutions to the Maxwell–Stefan–Fourier equations in Fick–Onsager form is proved. model consists mass balance for partial densities and energy equation total energy. diffusion heat fluxes depend linearly on gradients thermo-chemical potentials gradient temperature include Soret Dufour effects. cross-diffusion system exhibits an entropy structure, which originates from thermodynamic modeling. lack positive definiteness matrix compensated by fact that density constant time. estimate yields a.e. positivity temperature. Also matrices are considered degenerate vanishing densities.

Propagation of Waves at an Interface of Heat Conducting Elastic Solid and Micropolar Fluid Media

The present investigation is concerned with the reflection and transmission coefficients of plane waves at the interface of generalized thermoelastic solid half space and heat conducting micropolar fluid half- space. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves with various angle of incidence have been computed numerically and depicted graphically. Micropolarity and thermal r...

Effect of Working-fluid Mixtures on Organic Rankine Cycle System Performance: Heat Transfer and Cost Analysis

A thermodynamic limitation of single-component working fluids in organic Rankine cycles (ORCs) is the large exergy destruction (and, consequently, useful power loss) associated with evaporation and condensation. Due to their non-isothermal phasechange behaviour, non-azeotropic working-fluid mixtures have shown reduced exergy losses, leading to improved cycle efficiencies and power outputs. Thes...

Breaking of equipartition in one-dimensional heat-conducting systems.

Using information-theoretical methods, we studied how energy equipartition is broken in one-dimensional systems under a heat flow composed of alternating particles of two different masses. The average energy stored in particles of different masses is seen to be different in both ideal gases and harmonic lattices.

Heat-Conducting, Compressible Mixtures with Multicomponent Diffusion: Construction of a Weak Solution

We investigate a coupling between the compressible Navier–Stokes–Fourier system and the full Maxwell-Stefan equations. This model describes the motion of chemically reacting heat-conducting gaseous mixture. The viscosity coefficients are density-dependent functions vanishing on vacuum and the internal pressure depends on species concentrations. By several levels of approximation we prove the gl...
